Water cooling shell & tube oil heat exchanger
Shell & Tube type heat exchangers utilises two liquids to heat one liquid while cooling the other liquid. In the YTO-Y type heat exchangers, one of the liquid flows inside of the tubes, while the second fluid flows through the shell. Shell has dividing plates so that flow in the shell will be in perpendicular direction to the tubes. One of the most common liquid in this kind of heat exchangers are water, the second most common fluids are heat transfer oils. Water quality is an important factor to determine total performance of the condenser. Impurities in the water cover the pipe surface and cause a resistive layer to heat transfer.
